Burner minimum maximum
diameter diameter
Large (rapid) 180 mm. 260 mm.
Medium 120 mm. 220 mm.
(semi-rapid)
Small (auxiliary) 80 mm. 160 mm.
When lighting the hob manually (in
case of lack of electricity): Hold a flame
near the burner. Never turn the control knob
before approaching the burner with the
flame.
When switching on the mains, after
installation or a power cut, it is quite
normal for the spark generator to be
activated automatically.
To ensure maximum burner efficiency,
you should only use pots and pans with a flat
bottom fitting the size of the burner used (see
table).
Use only pans or pots with flat bottom.
If you use a saucepan which is
smaller than the recommended
size, the flame will spread beyond
the bottom of the pan, causing the
handle to overheat.
As soon as a liquid starts boiling, turn
down the flame so that it will barely
keep the liquid simmering.
Take care when frying food in hot
oil or fat, as the overheated
splashes could easily ignite.
The stainless steel can become
tarnished if excessively heated.
Therefore prolonged cooking with
potstones, earthenware pans or cast-
iron plates is inadvisable. Also, do not
use aluminium foil to protect the top
during use.
Do not place unstable or de-
formed pots on the rings: they
could tip over or spill their con-
tents, causing accidents.
Pots must not enter the control
zone.
When cooking with the hob, leave
the lid open in order to avoid
overheating.
If the control knobs become difficult to
turn, please contact your local Service
Force Centre.
The hob lid
The lid is meant to avoid dust to settle on
the hob, when it is closed, and to collect
splashes of oil or fat, when it is open. Do not
use it for any other purpose.
Always wipe off any splash of liquid before
opening the lid.
Always clean the lid from cooking residues
before opening it or taking it off.
WARNING! The
crystal lid can splinter
when overheated.
Always ensure all the
burners are off before
closing it.
