Installation instruction
Plan your central vacuum cleaner construction
Place the central unit and do the air evacuation (air-blow) in the
easiest possible place. On installation in the respective house,
there might be e.g. a valve in the façade. The house might also
be built in the old-fashioned way with bricks – those can be used
as well. Both the aggregate and the blow-out are a noise source;
especially the blow-out might disturb the neighbours. Therefore,
always install the delivered silencer, which clearly minimises the
noise level.
Make sure that there is a separate electric socket, 230V 10A
inactive fuse in close connection to the central unit.
Place the aggregate in such a way that the blow-out-tube is as
short as possible. Blow-out-tubes longer than 5 meters must have
stronger dimensions than the one you have on the suction side.
The aggregate is placed in consideration of simple collection of
the dust bag or dust bag holder – there must be space above or
underneath (see measures picture 1 and 2). Do remember that
a full bag requires a lot of space when collected and you need
space on the side for your hands to loosen the lock respectively
dust bag holder.
Installation of ZCV781, ZCV782 and ZCV785
(see measures – picture 1 and 2)
Turn the mounting plate with the opening upwards and screw it
on with the 4 screws, plugs and/or plaster screws adjusted to the
respective wall material (picture 3).
ATTENTION! The wall plate is delivered with the aggregate and is
found in the same bag as the dust bags.
Hang the vacuum cleaner on the mounting plates in such a way
that the cleaner’s fixing slide down the traces. (picture 4)
The aggregate is provided with 3 connections for intake and 1
connection for blow out. The intake, which is not used, shall be
blocked with the included rubber lock.
The 50mm glued tube system fits directly on the connections of the
aggregate. The 42 mm glue-free requires that you first install the
included adapter, which is found in the tube package. (picture 5)
For the installation of the tube system and the vacuum lifting
beams see the separate installation manual.
You can connect the included garage vacuum lifting beam on the
available intake connection. (picture 6)
ATTENTION! If that one is used, an additional dust bag must
be installed. If the garage vacuum lifting beam is not used, the
connection must be blocked with the rubber lock.
In order to connect the blow out, one of the included 90°-angles
is installed on the blow out’s hole. The blow out of ZCV782 and
ZCV785 is the top hole on the backside of the cleaner. The blow
out of ZCV781 is the lowest hole. (picture 7) The 90°-angle may
be pointed at any of the holes depending on where you would
like to have your blow out. (picture 8) The connection is adjusted
to a 50 mm tube. In case of a 42 mm tube the included rubber
adapter is installed first. (picture 9)
Connect the tube system’s low-voltage-pipe to the aggregate’s
low-voltage-contact. Prior to fixing the cord to the connection, cut
off the top on the rubber spout. Then slip it on the cord with the
top on the cord-side. Peel the cord endings and install the cable
clips. Connect the low-voltage-pipe and slip it over the rubber
spout. (picture 10)
Connect the aggregate to 230V and enjoy your new clean life with
a faster, easier and funnier cleaning.

Three engine protections
1. Vacuum valve (picture 11)
The central unit is equipped with a vacuum valve in order to protect
the engine against overheating in case of a blocked suction hose.
That vacuum valve is located on the side of the central unit and opens
automatically in case of a depression of 25 kPa.
ATTENTION! The vacuum valve must not be blocked or manipulated.
2. Circuit breaker against excess current (picture 12)
In case the engine is exposed to excess current, e.g. at start, the
circuit breaker comes into force. The circuit breaker is restored by
pressing the button under the rubber spout.
3. Overheating protection
In case, for whatever reason, the engine temperature becomes too
high, it remains and can be restarted after cooling down. The reason
might be that the filter is clogged and therefore the engine gets bad
cooling. The overheating protection is built-in in the engine.
ATTENTION! If this happens the error must be investigated.
Dust collection (picture 13)
The volume of dust collection in model Electrolux ZCV781 is a 22
litres dust bag. A full dust bag minimises the systems performance!
Depending on how often you use your central vacuum cleaner
the dust bag may be collected 2 – 3 times per year – and can be
obtained at authorised Electrolux dealers.
ATTENTION! Vacuum cleaning with ZCV781 must never be done
without installed dust bag.
This is how you change the dust bag:
Remove the central unit’s lock
Loosen the dust bag from the intake tube
Place and press the new dust bag firmly into the tube. Turn the
bag’s opening to make it lock firmly on the tube.(picture 14)
Put the lock back on the central unit
